Software Entrepreneur Eric Bowman of Charleston, South Carolina

In addition to being the founder and president of the Stream Live media platform, Eric Bowman encourages young people in the Charleston, South Carolina region to develop professional and technical expertise. Eric Bowman is a board member of the Harbor Entrepreneur Center, a business accelerator in Charleston.

Mr. Bowman is the founder and former chief executive officer of SPARC, which developed software for federal and defense contractors. At one point, it was ranked among the best places to work in South Carolina and was named the state’s fastest-growing company. SPARC was sold to a Fortune 500 entity in 2015.

Prior to founding SPARC. Eric Bowman was the manager of engineering at Benefitfocus, a platform centered on employee benefits. Earlier, he worked at AAI/Engineering Support and WCI Communications. In 2014 he co-founded the Infinite Takes video company.

Mr. Bowman earned a BS in computer science at Indiana State University in Terre Haute and went on to obtain his MBA from Charleston Southern University. He also serves on the board of YESCarolina (Youth Entrepreneurship South Carolina) and is a former owner of the Charleston Battery professional soccer team.
